About Us

Experience

Jonathan Katende,founder and CEO of Ocean Link Group is an experienced Commercial Banker and Entrepreneur with a Bachelors in Economics Degree from Makerere University.A purpose driven individual with prior core training in Credit Risk and Business Relationship Management. He embarked on his Banking career in 2007 with Standard Chartered Bank in Credit Risk Control which gave him great hindsight of Banking operations,documentations and impact of external stakeholders like Lawyers,Insurers,Valuers and others as well internal stakeholders.

Jonathan was thereafter appointed as Relationship Manager Small and Medium Enterprises handling Medium Enterprises segment of Standard Chartered Bank.This enhanced his knowledge of business retention,acquisition,client service and Balance sheet management along all three income lines of assets,liabilities and forex.

Prior to being headhunted by Stanbic Bank,Jonathan had won accolades of Best service partner for Wholesale Bank and best sales person(SME segment) for two consistent years having grown his portfolio 12M$ to 31M $ in 12 months. He thereafter joined Stanbic Bank as a Senior Relationship Manager (Commercial Banking) where he outstandingly excelled and won accolades of Best Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for entire rest of Africa 2013 and 2014 having grown personal portfolio Balance sheet from 18M$ to 70M$ within 24 months.

Jonathan embarked on his Enterpreneurship journey in 2015 with a zeal and focus to offer Business advisory to the SME sector in Uganda as well as personally engaging in Distribution of sisal twines and Hardware and construction materials which gave birth to Ocean Link Group a formally well established limited entity offering Business advisory,Investment advisory and Brokerage services to several SME entities and for the past 6 years,there's been immense value to several entities within the country.

Winnie Nuwagaba Katende is a Director and Company Secretary of Ocean Link Group. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Laws(LLB)from Makerere University and has prior professional attachments to Sebalu and Lule as a Legal intern and with AVID Development as a Research and Policy analyst with bias in Governance and Human Rights, access to Justice, and Regional Integration.

Winnie embarked on her entrepreneurship journey in 2010 and has successfully established and grown key business entities in hospitality and events management as well as in the FMCG sector. Winnie is very passionate about Human rights,child care and art and design.
